About the Award:
The STEM Female Champion Award celebrates an inspiring woman or young adult who is actively championing the presence, participation, and progress of women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This award recognizes those who are breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and using their voice, skills, or platform to make STEM more inclusive and accessible for females.
Who We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a female role model who embodies leadership, passion, and advocacy in STEM. This could be someone working in the industry, teaching, volunteering, or mentoring—anyone making a tangible impact on the lives of girls and young women through STEM.
Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following:
Leadership in STEM: Actively working or studying in a STEM field and demonstrating excellence in their profession or academic work.
Advocacy: Advocating for the inclusion of girls and women in STEM through community engagement, events, mentoring, outreach, or public speaking.
Mentorship: Supporting or inspiring girls/women to pursue STEM through coaching, teaching, or sharing her story.
Innovation & Impact: Has initiated or contributed to projects, programs, or platforms that help girls explore or succeed in STEM.
Visibility: Acts as a visible and relatable role model for aspiring young women in STEM.
Eligibility:
Open to women aged 18+
Based in or significantly impacting communities in Scotland
Can be from any STEM field (science, tech, engineering, maths, computing, digital, etc.)
