Isabel Simon is a Talent Acquisition Specialist at DC Thomson, with more than a decade of professional experience in recruitment, careers, employability and people operations across the UK, Japan and Southeast Asia. Guided by the belief that people are the driving force of every successful organisation, she has dedicated her career to connecting individuals with meaningful opportunities and empowering the next generation of leaders.
A proud New Scot, Isabel’s personal journey from growing up in the Philippines to becoming a British citizen fuels her deep commitment to social mobility, youth development and creating inclusive opportunities. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Intercultural Business Communication from Edinburgh Napier University and is a certified Predictive Index Practitioner.
Beyond her corporate role, Isabel has made an international mark through her leadership with Junior Chamber International (JCI). She served as Local President of JCI Aberdeen in 2023 and as National President of JCI Scotland in 2024, where she led members, launched award-winning initiatives and forged strategic partnerships. Today, she continues to mentor emerging leaders while championing skills development, intercultural collaboration and purposeful leadership. She currently serves as a JCI Skills Development Committee member representing Europe.
