Dr Wendy Knoops is a GP specialising in Women’s Health and a BMS Menopause Specialist based in Scotland with a clinical career over 20 years. Her focus and ambition to improve healthcare for women started in General Practice, after which she developed her expertise and knowledge in Sexual & Reproductive Health. Having held several fundamental posts within NHS Grampian and NHS Highland, she led and developed several services aimed to improve women’s health care.
Dr Wendy is passionate about educating women and health care professionals to understand women’s health conditions. She has worked with the University of Aberdeen, as well as the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Health, to promote and inspire an individualised approach to managing women’s health issues. She is interested in engaging with women in the community, in particular related to contraception and menopause. Within her clinical work, she aims to provide holistic consultations tailored to each woman. Her area of interest ranges from complex contraception to menopause care, including other hormonal health issues such as PCOS and PMS. She provides assessments for women’s health conditions focusing on consultations where women’s concerns are listened and to advise on a tailored management plan.
